About Us

Coral Reef in the Red Sea

Our Mission

We inspire individuals and businesses to pledge 10% of their annual donations to ocean conservation efforts to protect and sustain our marine environments. Through grants, awareness raising and partnerships, we support local efforts to protect marine ecosystems and promote sustainable practices.

Our Vision

We envision a world where the ocean is a priority for everyone, and communities have the resources they need to protect and sustain our shared marine environments.

The 10% Pledge

Committing 10% of global charitable giving—about $50 billion annually—to ocean conservation would transform marine protection, expanding protected areas, restoring vital ecosystems, and driving sustainable innovation. This funding boost would safeguard the livelihoods of 3 billion people, help tackle climate change, and support the goal of protecting 30% of the ocean by 2030.

A Revolution in Ocean Conservation

10% for the ocean came to life following a series of conversations with leading scientists, conservationists and philanthropists, who all highlighted the failure of existing funding systems to support healthy oceans.

The ocean currently receives less than 1% of all global charitable giving and is the least funded of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We launched 10% for the Ocean to create a step-change in support for marine conservation and drive funds to those who most need it.
